As a Type IIA restricted use facility, some items cannot be accepted at Windy Flats Rubble Site. Please read through the unacceptable list provided below, and don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions. If we are unable to process your waste, we can help you find other options for proper disposal.

Unacceptable Waste Includes

  • Regulated asbestos-containing materials

  • Lead -Acid batteries

  • Putrescible wastes (municipal solid waste and household garbage)

  • Hazardous waste:

    • PCBs

    • Ash

    • Similar wastes

  • Liquid Waste

    • Petroleum products

    • Sludge

    • Tar

    • Paint

    • Used motor oil

    • Contaminated water

    • Other liquid wastes

  • Treated wood:

    • Wood treated with inorganic chemicals

    • Chromated copper arsenate (CCA) – commonly referred to as green or brown treated wood

    • Pentachlorophenol (PCP) – commonly referred to as green or brown treated wood

    • Creosote

  • Miscellaneous wastes:

    • Containerized paints
